Ask a friend to proofread all parts of your IUE application, including forms and essays.

Read everything you are applying for, including the fine print.

Follow the directions, and do not hurry.
Letters of reference

Give at least two weeks advance notice when contacting to the person you are asking to provide a letter of recommendation. Two letters are required. Do not use relatives.

Provide the person writing your reference letter with a pre-addressed, stamped envelope. They are to seal the reference letter and mail it to the address above.
- Send a letter thanking the person who wrote you a letter of recommendation.
Deadlines
- Submit IUE application materials early to make sure they get noticed. Never miss a deadline.
- Keep copies of everything you send. If something gets lost, it will be easier to recreate your materials.
